SvelteKit 2 was recently released. With support for the newly released Vite 5, and a new feature called “Shallow Routing”, this new release is an important step for the future of Svelte and Sveltekit.
With this release, Svelte 5 was also teased. The new SvelteKit 2 promises a smooth transition to Svelte 5 once released.

The people behind Astro recently teased a new product as part of the Astro ecosystem, called Astro Studio. It is a globally distributed edge data platform, only available for Astro. This means you will be able to set up a dedicated hosted database for your Astro projects.
The system is optional, so you do not need to use it.

The popular Vite testing framework Vitest recently hit a major milestone with the release of v1.0.0. This production-ready release comes after an extensive beta period.
Vitest v1.0.0 contains breaking changes like dropping support for Node.js under version 18. It also has improvements like simplified mocking and snapshot APIs. Code coverage is enabled by default now as well.
Much more has changed, so make sure to take a look at the changelog.
