FreeTube

FreeTube is an open-source desktop YouTube player built with privacy in mind. Use YouTube without advertisements and prevent Google from tracking you with their cookies and JavaScript. Available for Windows, Mac & Linux thanks to Electron.

FreeTube uses a built-in extractor to grab and serve data/videos. The Invidious API can also optionally be used. FreeTube does not use any official APIs to obtain data. While YouTube can still see your video requests, it can no longer track you using cookies or JavaScript. Your subscriptions and history are stored locally on your computer and never sent out. Using a VPN or Tor is highly recommended to hide your IP while using FreeTube.

Brave Browser

Brave is a web browser that focuses on user privacy and security. It blocks ads and website trackers by default, preventing companies from gathering data on users' browsing habits. Brave promises faster page loading times compared to other major browsers like Chrome because there are fewer ads and trackers bogging down web pages.

The browser provides built-in protection against malware and phishing websites. It also prevents browser fingerprinting, a technique websites use to identify and track users based on their device and browser settings. For additional privacy, Brave allows enabling anonymous network routing through Tor.

Unlike other mainstream browsers, Brave has privacy features activated by default without requiring configuration changes by the user. The company markets its browser as a simple one-stop solution for private web browsing rather than making users toggle individual settings. Other key features highlighted are bookmark and password import from existing browsers to easily switch to Brave, integrated ad-blocking, and a built-in cryptocurrency wallet and rewards system.
